What is important to you, for your client to feel, when working with you?
It is important to me that my clients feel heard when they come into my therapy room. I believe that when someone feels heard and seen, a trusting relationship can be established which allows for open communication and growth.
Who do you believe you are for a client as they manage their problems?
Everyone comes into the world with their own map of how they see themselves, others and the world. Sometimes we get a little lost, or stuck along the way. I believe it is my job as a therapist to help clients zoom in or out on their personal map in order to understand where they are, and perhaps empower them to see if there are alternative routes.
What drives your passion for seeing clients?
I think the ultimate goal of therapy is to feel better. I think the most rewarding part of therapy is seeing someone accomplish this goal.
How do you believe clients "get better"?
I believe clients get better when they start to understand their thinking and behavioral patterns and are empowered to widen their perspective about the patterns that are not working for them anymore.
Everything can be taken from a [wo]man but one thing: the last of human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.
