Julie Carrion Bido
Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern
Julie is a compassionate and motivated therapist who seeks to guide her clients throughout their healing journey and instill hope for a better tomorrow. Her interest in the mental health field stemmed from the impact mental health struggles have had in her own life and a drive to help others achieve their goals; this passion drove her to obtain her Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami. In her clinical career, she has had the opportunity to work in an outpatient community mental health agency where she saw a wide range of clients who presented with various mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress. With these experiences, she has developed an integrative approach to providing therapy, drawing from concepts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy and Mindfulness. To her, therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process and believes that each client is unique and deserves to be valued in that regard.

What is important to you, for your client to feel, when working with you?
It can be challenging to share your most intimate and vulnerable thoughts with someone, so it is imperative that my clients feel that they have a safe and warm environment to express themselves. It is also important that my clients feel seen and heard and that their concerns are taken seriously.
Who do you believe you are for a client as they manage their problems?
As a therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to understand their concerns and provide support while they embark on their healing journey. Ultimately, I hope to become an empathic, nonjudgmental presence that clients can lean on during difficult times.
What drives your passion for seeing clients?
As humans, we all have the capacity to create long-lasting change in our lives and therapy is one of the tools that we can utilize. Having experienced the power of the therapeutic relationship firsthand inspires me to help others find hope and growth in themselves.
How do you believe clients "get better"?
I believe clients "get better" by taking a proactive role in their healing. When clients display a certain level of strength and commitment, they grow and evolve into their most authentic self.
